The Startup community in Kansas City is probably not well-known outside of our ‘Silicon Prairie.’ But it's quickly gaining momentum and I believe we are starting to see a real investment from local governments and businesses alike.
That investment was poignant this week as presented at Startup@Kauffman Demo Day. The event kicks off the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), a chance to network, attend job fairs, and hear stories of how amazing people are changing the world.
We were also lucky enough to do a Reverse Pitch, where we had a chance to interact with representatives from Kansas City’s largest companies (DST Systems, Garmin, H&R Block, Cerner, Sprint, and Hallmark).
Representatives discussed their current initiatives to engage the startup tech community…or at least they stated their desire to get involved (everything begins somewhere).
Our presentation (from the Morning Session) begins at the 2h:14min mark.
